Army veteran donates handmade wooden flag
James Andrews recently made and donated this wooden flag to Lake City’s American Legion Post No. 31. The flag now hangs at the Lake City Community Memorial Building, where the Legion holds its meetings. 
Attorney General Bird addresses Calhoun County audience

Board of Supervisors approve renaming of Courthouse Law Library
At the Calhoun County Board of Supervisors meeting on May 6, Eileen Meier spoke during the public comment period. Meier asked if the Courthouse’s Law Library could be renamed to the Valerie Peterson Memorial Law Library after her late sister. Meier stated that Peterson was killed in a hit and run accident in 1971 in Manson, and that the case remains unsolved.
