SCC moves Homecoming football game to 5 p.m. Friday
South Central Calhoun has moved Friday’s Homecoming football game to an official start time of 5 p.m. due to the possibility of severe weather.
The change has been confirmed with game officials, both teams and event workers. The SCC Booster Club will have concessions available before kickoff.
School will dismiss 2½ hours early Friday, Sept. 18, to allow students and families time to attend the parade and other Homecoming activities.
The Homecoming parade is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., weather permitting. If conditions do not allow the parade to take place safely, it will be canceled. School officials will make that decision closer to the scheduled start time.
A community pep rally will be held on the Lake City square immediately following the parade. If weather conditions require the event to move indoors, the pep rally will be held in the SCC High School gym following the parade.
District officials acknowledged that weather-related schedule changes may create challenges for families and community members who had already made plans. The district made the changes as early as possible while keeping safety at the center of its decisions.
SCC thanked families and community members for their flexibility and understanding as the district works to provide a safe and memorable Homecoming Week.
