The Calhoun County Iowa Republicans hosted their annual picnic in Manson on Aug. 20, 2025. The event brought together several candidates for the 2026 election, including gubernatorial candidates Eddie Andrews, Brad Sherman, and Mike Bousselot.
In mid-July, 37 middle schoolers, along with several adult chaperones, visited Washington, D.C. The trip was open to sixth, seventh, and eighth graders, and was arranged independently through World Classrooms, a student tour company.
Former Southern Cal standout Wesley Beschorner (‘01) has a new home for the 2025 season. He was hired by Jake Dickert at Wake Forest as the offensive analyst and tight ends coach for the Demon Deacons, placing him in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
South Central Calhoun continues to produce talented student-athletes who get the opportunity to move on and play in college. From football and volleyball to golf and dance, alumni are showcasing their talents again this season.
